Instinctive Thought

There must have been a moment when we lost our fluency in the pure language of thought. I mean, the ability to think without words. The first moment I remember clearly using words to think was in second grade, at our elementary school’s Halloween parade. I looked at my friend and thought of her as a brown lump. But words are so limiting, so slow. Before that, we thought in terms of instinct and idea. We didn’t think, we just simply knew. We didn’t have words, we had pure, unadulterated feeling.
